I hope everyone is staying well & healthy during this worldwide COVID-19 outbreak & “stay-at-home order.” While this is an uncertain time for many, financially and otherwise, it is also a time to reflect and be grateful for all that we have. A time for us to be present, patient, tolerant and embrace the unknown.

While staying at home, this is a great time for: reflection, self-care, cleaning, organizing spaces, productivity, creating a 2020 vision board and spending quality time with family.  Also, adopting or fostering an animal in need, projects, stretching, walking outside in fresh air, juicing, making tea, donating things that no longer serve you, reading books, cooking, and baking.  Additionally, gardening, learning recipes, drinking a gallon of water per day, catching up with loved ones, napping, resting, exercising, meditating, completing those tasks you have been putting off, and listening to music of course.

As I think deeper about this mandatory worldwide quarantine order, it does feel like a very clear sign from Mother Nature.  We have been put on time-out. Maybe we have gotten a bit disconnected as humans. We, as a collective, are consumers & buyers, all while plundering the Earth for her resources. Lets take a cue from this quarantine as a gentle nod from the Universe, to be more conscious of what we eat, what we use, what we buy, and where we go.

Some examples of this are: eating less or no meat and dairy, adopting a more vegan and plant-based diet (these diets never lead to pandemics), reducing our carbon footprint, recycling, using less plastic and styrofoam, using and buying biodegradable items, and bringing a personal set of bamboo utensils ($8 on Amazon) out to restaurants instead of utilizing single-use plastic. Also, walking or occupying public transit to get to destinations, carpooling, buying hybrid environmentally-friendly cars, purchasing second-hand and vintage clothing as opposed to brand new, eating organic and sustainable, and sourcing some of our food more locally such as at weekly farmer’s markets. This food has less pesticides & chemicals, and traveled far less to get to you.

For the first time, in a very long time, there is less fog in the air, and the oceans look clear. The World is breathing a big collective “sigh.” And I know Los Angeles is too.

I want to virtually send hugs to all of you and share some of my favorite songs (past & present) that have been on heavy rotation at home right now. They are chill, laid-back and serve as great background music if you are doing computer work, cleaning, etc.

Here is my track list below in no particular order, with songs ranging from reggae rock to pop to house to post-grunge alternative rock to indie rock to neo-soul and much more. You can find all of these awesome songs on Spotify, enjoy 🙂
